Summer Wrap Up

Summer vacation and my 2 month break from work came to an end this week. I can't say it has been a smooth transition for them or myself. I did not accomplish all I had hoped, but at the same time was likely overly ambitious. There were some unexpected challenges that required shifting plans.

During this time, I completed 2 bucket list items. Birding Arizona was something I wanted to do for 3 years, ever since I started birding. I also visited Cape Flattery. In Arizona, I added 50 birds to my lifelist and had a wonderful bonding experience with Andy. In Cape Flattery, I got to see a whale and understand my limits in terms of how long a drive I could manage if required.

We also as a family spent time in Long Beach and Lincoln, NH. During this time, I feel we reconnected as a family which hadn't existed since before covid. I wish I could take every summer off.

Time to set some new goals related to the outdoors.
