Today before others woke up, I picked up a new life bird the Eastern Phoebe on the way to get gas. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a look at it, but did manage to get a good look at a Red-eyed Vireo a bird more frequently heard than seen.

We did try to visit Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge in the afternoon, but after a big lunch, full day at Clark's Bears looking for Golden Bears, and Mosquitoes nipping at the family we left early. By the time we got there in the afternoon, it was very quiet.

This is likely a wrap for New Hampshire birding for now. Tomorrow, we checkout to head down to Rhode Island. I see a lot more opportunity for birds here that was not the focus of this trip. I had hoped for at least 10 lifers. Although I fell a bit short, I am delighted with the birds I did get to see.

Summer Wrap Up

Summer vacation and my 2 month break from work came to an end this week. I can't say it has been a smooth transition for them or myself....
